Mary Mary

Mary Mary is an American gospel music duo, comprising sisters Erica Atkins-Campbell (born April 29, 1972) and Tina Atkins-Campbell (born May 1, 1974). The pair is frequently credited along with Kirk Franklin for widening the fan base of urban contemporary gospel in the 2000s by bringing in elements of soul, hip ho, soul music, jazz and funk. Mary Mary broke onto the scene with their well known song “Shackless (Praise You)” which is deemed one of the original songs of urban modern gospel music. 

Their debut album Thankful (2000) was accredited Platinum. The pair has released three Gold albums: Incredible (2002), and Mary Mary (2005), which all charted#1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums. They have also collected four Grammys, among other awards. In 2011, they released their fifth studio album Something Big with the hit single “Walking”.

In March 2012, they had first performance of their own television series, Mary Mary, on WE TV. A second season premiered in December 2012 and ended in February 2013. Their newly released albums is their first compilation album, Go Get It (2012), with the hit single of the same name.
